Taking The Next Step

There are many times in our lives when we find ourselves both confused and perplexed with the many varied choices we must make which have either positive or negative impact in our lives while affecting those around us often dramatically.  I know in my own life these decisions are often postponed or ignored without the support and reality based wisdom only others can provide.  Success in life often hinges on having a healthy level of humility to be able to seek help and support when we need it.  With this important “Next Step”, we often discover the basis of our strengths and giftedness while overcoming our self-imposed barriers to reach our highest potential and God-given purpose.

My name is Greg Hardin, and it has been my joy to work as a Christian counselor and guide to help individuals, couples, and families for over 20 years.  I have never seen a time when the daily stresses of life coupled with the fast pace of expected adaptation has contributed to more conflict and disruption for both individuals and families.  It takes real courage to confront change and to face life challenges with both faith and confidence that the future can always be better than the present or the past.  I have been fortunate to have had many mentors and encouragers  who have provided both the wisdom and discernment I needed to take major steps in my life.  It has been a difficult journey filled with as many missteps as successes.  As you might expect, it was the mistakes that have fostered the most motivation and courage for change in my life. I also discovered that big changes are best achieved one small step at a time and are often the result of a series of small but crucial steps we take over time.  This process, though difficult, is essential to transform what seems  “the impossible” into the realm of confident completion.  I realized I had to stop blaming others or just dreaming for something better.  I had to be proactive and engaged enough to take action, to take that vital “next step” in to a better life of healing and of hope.

Through this blog I hope to share some of my points of growth and concerns as I continue my particular present journey in hopes it will connect with others who are fellow seekers and explorers who are willing to become pioneers for their own determined pursuit of joy, peace and personal freedom.  It takes real courage to confront change and overcome our fears.  With a little help we can reclaim a positive balance in life which will lead to personal freedom and restored wellness.  All it takes to embark on the adventure of a lifetime is the courage to take one step at a time.  The “next step” is yours if your ready.
